a bit about me:

Welcome, Darcy B. O'Shea, is a Physical Education and Health Educator in Connecticut. Currently she teaches Physical Education and Health at John C. Daniels International School of Communication, in New Haven, CT. Darcy is a passionate educator, priding herself on teaching all her students to become physically literate students in today's world.  

On this website, you will get to see Darcy's credentials as an educator, as well as, view lesson ideas, ways to integrate technology, and a peek into the world of being physical literate and mindful.

In 2003, Darcy earned the title of Miss Southington, where she spent a year pursuing my platform of "Get Active, Promoting Today’s Youth to Live Active Lifestyles ." In 2004, during her time at Central Connecticut State University, she attended the national convention for the American Association of Physical Education, Health, Recreation, and Dance, where she presented on the importance of rhythmic movement in Physical Education. During 2005, Darcy was named one of Southington's Most Influential Woman

Currently, Darcy is pursuing a Master's in Teacher Leadership from Central Connecticut State University and hopes to obtain her doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Teaching Physical Education is not just her career, but a true passion. Darcy enjoys bring authentic experiences into her classroom to broaden her students understanding of the impacts of leading a physically active lifestyle.

 

Darcy strives to be a positive role model to her students, by demonstrating how she maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. While it is hard to find time as a teacher, Darcy enjoys keeping physical activity a true part of her self care routine, by enjoying cycling, running, yoga, and a variety of recreational activities. Her own personal experiences remind her of why she is so passionate and committed to a career in Physical Education and Health.
